The Device Manufacturing and Characterization Laboratory, LABDIS, constitutes a structure of fundamental importance for the scientific and technological development not only of Rio de Janeiro but of the country. It is a complete laboratory capable of producing and characterizing devices based on inorganic semiconductors. With state-of-the-art equipment, the production and characterization of samples covers all stages from the production of the material and the characterization of its physical, chemical and structural properties, to the final evaluation of the devices, through the processing of the material into the device and connecting it to the outside world. LabDIS is headquartered at PUC-Rio’s Semiconductor Laboratory (LabSem).
